In this role, Williams is responsible for ensuring SCI customers receive the technical information and support required to determine which SCI products best fit their needs. She will also ensure SCI rotary cathode systems are effectively installed, integrated and operated to maximize the efficiency and quality of their thin film processes.

“We are excited to have Sarah join our group,” said Robert Meck, SCI Director of Engineering. “Experienced applications engineers in this industry are difficult to find, and Sarah has the education and experience to ensure the ultimate success of our customers.”

Williams brings to the position a wealth of sputtering experience. She spent 12 years at Gencoa, first in the UK doing product/process development and later in the US doing sales and technical support. From there, she joined SCI, where she has worked the last seven years in both full-time and part-time sales.

She holds a BEng in Engineering & Materials Science as well as an MSc (Eng) in Advanced Manufacturing, both awarded by the University of Liverpool.

Williams will work remotely with frequent trips to the SCI factory in Owatonna, Minnesota. To address applications, pre-sales and services challenges, she will also visit customer sites.

Along with husband James, sons Toby (8) and Harry (5) and dog “Murphy,” Williams makes her home in Fort Collins, Colorado.
